Police-Finance-Recreation- Administration Minutes
Tuesday January 30, 2007
7:00 Meeting called to order, Doug Lohmeier, Bill Puthoff, Jeff Albrinck, George Synder, Dave Nichols, Gary Foust present.
Recreation: As per requested by Doug Lohmeier, Dave Nichols presented that the recreation department is excluded from the “Call In or Call Back” policy in the Codified Ordinances. A situation occurred where an employee was called in to temporarily fill in for a no show at the front desk. It was recommended that the recreation hourly employee be included in this ordinance. Mr. Lohmeier made motion to recommend the recreation be included, all were in favor to present to the balance of council.
Police:
Chief Foust advised the committee of the following items.
· GE union negotiations are coming up and GE has advised them of the normal possibilities.
· Depositions in the Officer Curry case have started
· Police Cruisers for 2007 was increased from 2 to 3 cars since Officer Vonderhaar accident. Insurance is covering the cost of the third vehicle.
· Update on the Mobile Video Cams for the three new cruisers
· The annual report will be included in this month’s council packets
Finance:
George Synder presented the updates on the following.
· More information on Sick Leave conversions
· State of Ohio settled officer Rudolph Workers Compensation Claim
· Inwood Drive property the Village owns is costing us approximately $6000/year because it is not being used for public services therefore we are paying higher insurance rates as well as property tax.
· Provided information on how we may want to change the “Legal level of control for the budget procedures for 2008.
· Provided figures for a transfer / appropriation Ordinance for the different funds to be presented at February meeting
o $30,000 for Traffic Control Light Upgrade for Glendale Milford and Reading Roads
o $12,000 for the News Letter
o $19,100 for Cruiser Replacement
